peek in private lounge at public airport :: The Centurion Lounge :: San Francisco “I participated in this influencer activation program on behalf of Influence-Central for American Express. I received thank you items for my participation.“ Amex invited us to check out their newest private lounge for platinum card members that's artfully tucked up above the check in and homeland security search area in Terminal 3 at San Francisco Airport. They sent a car to pick us up and whisk us into this brand new exclusive modern styled space with family playroom, private cafe, luxurious restrooms, shower suites, computers, airline status displays, and lots of attentive staff to inform and assist Centurion Lounge guests. We sampled from the contemporary cafe's brunch buffet, chatted with families, and toured the variety of spaces in the Centurion Lounge. There were photo portraits of iconic San Francisco people included with the contemporary style furnishings, wallpaper, lighting and carpets. A magician amazed us and a face painter decorated us in the large main lounge, which has a variety of interesting sofas, chairs, cubicle cubbys, apple computers, and a large conference table. The Centurion Lounge has lots of natural light and amazing airport views from the large windows and skylights. The lounge was calm and quiet; i think they might have soundproof windows. You can look down into the busy Terminal area on one side of the Centurion Lounge, or into the Airport and coastal mountains on the other side. The grand stairway up to the Centurion Lounge has a living plant wall. As the busiest travel time of the year approaches, private lounges within public airports are a luxury we are lucky to have experienced, and a model for how the public spaces can improve comfort for travelers. i took these pictures with my iphone inside the Centurion lounge at SFO. steve jobs, clint eastwood, tony bennett, jimi hendrix, robin williams, the grateful dead, carlos santana + other photo portraits hung in the Centurion Lounge are for sale by the photographer, like a gallery.
