california academy of sciences opened this weekend in san francisco! mod*tot + i got a peek at the building from the de young museum tower. here are some photos they sent us. does that roof look like teletubbies? i'm going to add some more photos this evening. right now, we're off to the oncologist for an ultrasound of some lumps. i'm also going to meditate + do a mind/body/spirit dance class. mod*tot's online kindergarten isn't challenging enough for her yet. we go through the lessons, hoping to get to the challenging part. she keeps saying, "boring... preschool..." click to enlarge photos... i'll add lots more tonight :) update: ultrasound showed lumps are normal tissue :) yipeeeeeeeeeeeee! by ~mod*mom~ at 1.10.08 © 16 Comments:

So, so glad the ultrasound gave you good news! YAY! By sarah, at 10/08/2008 3:51 AM sarah: the homeschooling for kindergarten is flexible. you are supposed to do their curriculum, but it's only a few hours a day, so you add whatever you want. mod*tot is zipping through = has to skip a lot of it, because it's teaching stuff that she already knows in math + phonics. she'll start the 1st grade material in a few months. By mod*mom, at 10/08/2008 7:59 AM This place is amazing ... definitely will be part of our next California vacation. , atit was such a zoo that day, though. the traffic almost killed me! that is, it killed my patience! i'm gonna wait till the the novelty wears off and then take my family. it does look pretty cool. By you da mom!, at 10/14/2008 11:06 AM im loving the info on the ca. academy of sciences, but i cant get past your statement of going to go see the oncologist... not to go into detail, but i had an ultrasound for some lumps that turned out to be nothing. it was the waiting and the worrying that just tore me up. i really hope everything goes well for you. hi abigail, By mod*mom, at 10/21/2008 3:08 PM We went to the Aquarium yesterday! Wow, it has changed so much! It's so different. The pictures you have are of the rainforest and the planetarium. I suggest the second you get it, you go and get tickets to the show because the lines are pretty long. My three year old really had a great time (sadly, her favorite part was a modified wii remote for catching bugs, I wish it wasn't something we could do at home but she showed interest in other things). I love the jellyfish! And I'm glad to hear you don't have to go back until December! By Lori, at 11/03/2008 12:41 AM |
