Fair Trade is best for everyone, but most importantly it's best for those who are selling their wares or working for those providing the products because it is supposed to ensure a safe, fair working environment, living wage, etc. , at
I love all the recycled items, especially the recycled wallet! It's a reminder to think twice before buying "c**p" you don't need that hurts other countries and peoples. FAIR TRADE needs to be stamped on packages like ORGANIC is now. Dagoba dark chocolate is the best! I'm trying hard to support fair trade by moving beyond chocolate and coffee and seeking out fair trade toys and other household accessories. Global Exchange has so much to choose from. By Mindful Momma, at 3/08/2008 8:42 AM
Oh I almost missed this one. I used to work at a fair trade coffee shop and it was by far my favourite place to work. EVERYONE WAS EQUAL! NO BOSS, choose your own schedule and whether you want to train for advancement or not. The people I worked with most were hippies lol, but this needs to be known widespread! Fair trade is the most practical way to buy and work, everyone benefits from it and nobody loses!! oops forgot my favourite Global Trade product.... definitely anything in their chocolate selection, I'm an addict!!! But my fav in the chocolate selection are the Dagoba ChocoDrops, I love them!! , atMy daughter would love their animal friends from Peru. The chocolate looks delicious! I ama big tea lover and the Equal Exchange Rooibos Tea is one of my favorites to buy! As for why fair trade is so important...well, we are all on the same planet and we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Fair trade enables us to do this. It allows us to avoid the nameless/faceless corporations and instead connect with people on a deeper more dignified level. By Cricket, at 3/08/2008 9:05 PM

By Danielle, at 3/09/2008 12:33 AM I love the Brazil nut candles. Something very different and very cool. Fair trade products allow everyone to benefit from fabulous products. The workers/producers benefit from better wages and working environment, and the consumers benefit by receiving a great product and knowing that they are helping others. By Heather @ Marine Corps Nomads, at 3/09/2008 7:00 AM you know when you buy something that you know is a good product from a company that has strong, just ethics? it just makes you FEEL good. i recently tried the chocolate covered ginger beads. perfect. and, again, it's just that whole thing of supporting a product that you can feel good about. makes it taste that much better! By you da mom!, at 3/09/2008 10:41 AM I love the market baskets!!And lots of the jewelry is wonderful! By Shama-Lama Mama, at 3/09/2008 1:55 PM I love the Dagoba Chocodrops. When thinking about Fair Trade, it's important to remember that there is no such thin as "cheap food". Fair Trade is best for everyone because we all share this earth; we should share the world's wealth, as well. By Jennifer/The Word Cellar, at 3/18/2008 3:24 PM
I love tea! By Mary O, at 3/18/2008 3:45 PM
Greetings! About a year ago, I was told about the Fair Trade Concept! There is a store about an hour or so away from where I live. It is a store solely based on Fair Trade practices! The prices are a little more, but knowing your are helping others, makes it all worth it. I have been trying to tell others about it and I have joined a Green Market Co-op. I hope this fair partnership continues to grow and thrive.....Thanks,Cindi By windycindy, at 3/18/2008 3:50 PM I like milk and white chocolate the most! By gjgille, at 3/18/2008 5:17 PM
I like the Peace Coffee best and I love free trade because you truely know where the product you are using comes from and how it was produced...Thanks!!
I love the dagoba chocolate! And fair trade is good for everyone because it shows we're not willing to exploit others just to get cheaper prices. By JenO, at 3/18/2008 5:35 PM
I love the flower canvas tote bag and prayer flag notecards! Fair trade is best because it supports businesses that are good for all the people involved and the environment. I'd love to try the Equal Exchange Hot Cocoa, and the handknit little chick pin is adorable. Fair trade is great to improve the standard of living for everyone. By Jenna, at 3/18/2008 5:51 PM My husband and I love our Peace Coffee! We love that fact that it doesn't pass through too many hands before it gets to us. We know who our money is going to and who it is helping directly! By PS, at 3/18/2008 5:59 PM LOVE Dagoba chocolates, and my daughter loves "the world's softest teddy bears." I grew up in a 3rd world country, and know so many people who benefit from these types of exchanges! By Unknown, at 3/18/2008 7:05 PM I really like the recycled messenger bag and chocolate gold coins! Fair trade is important to me because I cannot stand to think of some other mommy's child slaving away so that my kids can have a t-shirt or chocolate bar. I want my sons to understand how they are connected to those children oceans away, and realize that our choices impact them too. By Lee, at 3/18/2008 7:45 PM
Their Animal Friends from Peru are really sweet! Fair Trade is so important. I know what hard work it is to make things by hand, and it is important that we appreciate those who do it. We need to value life around the globe, and by paying a little for a lot, we enable companies to run poor working conditions and sometimes even violate human rights. I'm not saying it would be easy, but it would be a good thing to simplify our lives (for the good of others) and buy good quality (and safe!) products for our use and our family. By felicitouschick, at 3/18/2008 8:00 PM Man, I love that Mr. Happy doll! What a great site. By Panjo Kids, at 3/18/2008 9:27 PM I could really use a Hmong Textile Wall Hooks. Fair trade is not only socially better for people, but for the environment as well! By esper_d, at 3/18/2008 9:55 PM I fell in love with the silver lotus earrings that were made in the Balinese village of Singapadu. Fair trade is important because we can insure that people everywhere can sell what they have for fair prices and help them live more safely as well. By miriama, at 3/18/2008 11:49 PM The cotton veggie toys are delightful. I really appreciate fair trade practices that offer a human living wage & use environmentally sustainable resources. Thanks for hosting this giveaway. By cltgrace, at 3/19/2008 12:16 AM
How can you not like fair trade chocolate. Now the chocolate is good for your soul and heart! :)
I love so many of the products. I've been buying fair trade chocolates for years and they are high quality and delicious. They provide small farmers and communities with better, more fair wages so that they can live better lives and are not cheated. By J_Mama, at 3/19/2008 3:17 AM i've never heard of fair trade before. The chocolate sounds great! :) By jennifer57, at 3/19/2008 4:58 AM
I'd love to try their tea an coffee. By Rockin' Mama, at 3/19/2008 6:12 AM
I am a huge basket lover and use them for EVERYTHING, including going off to the store. So, my first fav is the market baskets from Ghana. I can't believe they are woven by young men! The history of them and how they are made is intriging, and can't believe how inexpensive they are. By Michele, at 3/19/2008 6:26 AM mmm coffee.. i like that it is all organic and that my son can have it because its not full of toxins By Unknown, at 3/19/2008 7:04 AM I <3 you! By adrienne, at 3/19/2008 7:33 AM
Definitelt the fave is the dark chocolate. We are trying to bring our kids up to understand the idea of a global village and carign for others, so we have been focusing on fair trade as one way to do this. By Ruth, at 3/19/2008 8:21 AM
Global Exchange is a dream store for the environment!
ANYTHING chocolate for me! LOL! By Unknown, at 3/19/2008 4:26 PM There are so many categories of products with which to choose from, I found several that are my favorites in each and every one of them! But something I use everyday is coffee. So my pick is the Peace Coffee and specifically the Blendo Suave! I am very picky about the coffee I drink and I believe in Fair Trade products and organic products as well, and this coffee is it! Fair Trade is best for everyone because if we can help low income farmers and artisans make a decent living, and at the same time engage in environmentally "friendly" practices, then it is a win-win situation for us all! By joannaonthelake, at 3/19/2008 4:31 PM I love the Divine Chocolate Teddy Bear, too cute. I enjoy browsing that website all the time, the coolest stuff! The retro crocheted animals are adorable as well. By Ginny, at 3/19/2008 4:49 PM
