I love Alexander Girard designs because they are fun, bold, subtle, kid friendly, adult loving...everything. There's so much variety! I really love the Thick and Thin design in Coco/Cream. This would be perfect in my 8 yr old son's room. Funky, yet fun!

I like that Alexander Girard is so chic! So cool, hip, and mod.

I like that the Alexander Girard prints are totally un-dull. Those flowers/suns made me smile right when I saw them in these pictures! Very day-brightening. As for the Flor prints I like a few from the new Martha Stewart prints, Cinnabar, Laurel and Brook are all super!

After working at a modern furniture store for several years, my apartment is nothing less than mid-century modern fabulous! I actually brought the Flor line into the store, and the biggest reason I pursued them is because I loved the recycling aspect. We had carpeted the entire store, 4,000 sq feet, in Flor, and my picks included the houndstooth and birds on a wire.

But having Girard's designs on my flor would be absolute ecstasy on my feet! I've made pillows and drapes from his Maharam fabrics, and even made little catnip cat-toys with the scraps!
Even my cats play in style!

I can't even imagine! Girard carpet? I'm just waiting for Eames, Merimekko or Panton designs to pop up next!

My dad actually introduced me to Alexander Girard this Christmas with some gorgeous notecards! I love the bold colors and designs. We're looking for carpet squares for our new playroom, and I wanted something bright and colorful without being totally played -- these are perfect!! I'm so excited!

I love Gigard's designs. They're mod and cool, without overdoing it. They also allow you to put your own creative effort in by arranging the tiles. Totally awesome.

we purchased flor tiles for our stairs, gambling that they would stay put and provide a modern-looking tread option other than boring, homey braided. the risk paid off! (i cut them in half to fit) the backing on these tiles perfectly grips our painted wood stairs without glue or tacktape and they look great. to vacuum them, i just pull them up, lay them out in a row, run the vacuum over them and put them back. super simple!

i love girard's designs, i NEVER win mod*mom anything :( and would LOVE to use these in my daughter's playroom. please choose me. please.

oh, and my favorite flor pattern from their site is JIGS UP pink. fun!

I've been a FLOR fan for awhile, but combined with the Girard designs, it's brilliant. I love all of the stripey patterns, especially the combination in the "Classic Quilt" area rug. I also love the "Happy Landings" airplanes for my little Linus' room.

I love the sun print on Girard's eco-friendly tiles. I collect sun and moon stuff so they're perfect, especially since their ecofriendly. I like the "finer things" tiles in jade- simple and functional.

I am also a big fan of Girard! And these FLOR tiles are by far my favorites of their designs. I do love their solid, bright colors and I think they're a wonderful, eco-conscious way to bring carpeting into the home. I would really love these for my new little boy's room. Really attractive, practical and environmentally conscious.

I just purchased the FLOR tiles at Target (on clearance!!) -- they're the same color family as our couch, so we're getting an easy-to-clean, large carpet from an eco-friendly company inexpensively!

I like that Girard's tiles are so colorful and modern. Perffect for brightening up a house with dark hardwoods like mine. I think my favorite pattern is Willow in Magenta. Somehow bright pink has never seemed so calm and understated.

WOW! I love the Alexander Girard tiles because they're vibrant, different, amazing, bold and just way too cool. All the flor stuff is just killer - love that you can go with the pattern or just play around.

The new Girard flor products are simply awesome. What a beautiful addition to any home.

I actually have a flor wishlist ;) My favorites are shirt stripe in rugby for the kitchen and seeing spots in parakeet for the front porch. Both areas of my new house need a punch of color and flor tiles would definitely do that!

I love these!

My favorite (and the one that would be sooo perfect in my condo) is the smaller one under the breakfast bar stools.

They are so happy and cheerful!
My floors are dark (heart of pine) and I currently have some carpets on them I purchased in Iraq, but they are simply too dark.

This flor design would make my kitchen sing and me sing when I am in the kitchen cooking!

Hello, can you say color?! When you look at your floor, do you see "just a rug" or do you see joy? These tiles remind me of what I'd like my clients to see when they walk into my office: peaceful, joyful, happy colors and patterns. Ask yourself how often you notice a rug? These are certainly set apart. It's definitely a tie between classic quilt and whimsy, but the pattern you have featured on your blog is my new favorite.

What an amazing opportunity! Alexander Girard's work was and is a major influence in design especially in textile and graphic design. To have the ability to translate your ideas through a diverse range of products, including FLOR, is unbelievable. Girard is one of my design idols!

FLOR has such an amazing range of tiles from the peaceful Martha Stewart Collection to virbant stripes and solid colors that I can't wait to see Girard's work translated into this stylish and modern carpet.

I've been coveting both the Alexander Girard alphabet blocks over at House Industries and the wooden dolls at DWR - His work makes me smile! It's the perfect balance - playful and intelligent.

I'm thrilled that FLOR is making these tiles, I have the Chartreuse Fedora with Skirting Around as the corners in my bedroom and I love it!

I am so in love with Alexander Girards designs that I keep the little signature/colour test strip from the edge of his fabrics after I've used up the fabric sewing! The colour combos alone are worth keeping, so the little strips go up on the inspiration board.

I've had crushes on many a FLOR carpet, but this new Alexander Girard one (in the larger scale) just takes the cake,it would be absolutely perfect in my new studio/sewing room/dressing room.

As a person with dogs, carpets are often not an option (they always seem to aim for the carpet, if you know what I mean...) But for awhile now I've thought of investing in a FLOR carpet with a few spare tiles, just in case an accident occurs. This new design is easily my top pick!

I love Flor! I just discovered this a few months ago and love that you can change the room just by moving around the carpet tiles. With a design like Alexander Girards you can do so much. I love the between the lines tiles--any of the colors are wonderful.

I've been in love with Girard since I was a kid, and now that I'm putting together my baby's room (4 months out--still on paint colors), I think the FLOR tiles would be perfect! Especially since I just got my Girard poster framed! The suns are so cheerful and certainly brighten my day.

Wow! I haven't heard of this until now. I love how eco-friendly the FLOR tiles are. I've been really into "green" building and materials these days and these seem wonderful. Thanks mod*mom! I absolutely love Flor and can't believe that they are adding the Alexander Girard pattern. We have used Toy Poodle, Walking on Clouds and House Pet in our house. We love how eco-friendly Flor is and how innovative they are. I was totally drooling over the Souk Chic, but now I'm holding out for the La Fonda Del Sol in Azul or Verde.

La Fonda del Sol was a Mexican restaurant, so it is no surprise that the new Alexander Girard FLOR tiles make me think of my childhood in Mexico City. I'd love to bring a little Mexican sunshine into my colorful, kid-friendly home by carpeting our long hallway with the Alexander Girard FLOR tiles.

We recently moved our Delight.com HQ to a fab new warehouse in a cool, urban part of Denver. We used FLOR Green Acres tiles in our front lobby, and have been debating which tiles to use in our kind of dark hallway. As a huge fan of Girard (i mean HUGE) these would be so perfect...they match our bright cheery decorating scheme, and would add a bit of art to our offices.

Oh I have been eyeing the Girard dolls for some time now and i can't think of a better combo than girard and eco-friendly flor tiles. i've been looking for the perfect flor tiles to brighten up my studio space (and insulate our drafty wooden floors) for sometime and i think these would be perfect. plus i'd smile everytime i'd look at those drawings beneath my feet.

We live in Santa Fe, NM, where Girard's pulse is felt all around. His collection at the International Folk Art Museum brings up back again and again. I just bought my daughter his blocks for her first birthday (subliminal indoctrination into world of good design). Girard was way ahead of his time, and to have his design coupled with the ingenuity and substainability of FLOR? Perfection! I keep lusting after FLOR's Tapete, and stealing my mother's FLOR samples to play with!

I am in LOVE with the Twill Ride
Laurel/Lime design. I notice that all of the designs are created so that they can become the focal point of any room - instead of just a plain green carpet - they have a lime in a twill that makes the whole design "pop". I think they create each design with the idea that not only is unique in it's own way, but that it can be used in so many different "looks." I would love the lime color in particular because I just found out that we will be relocating to Ohio! Yikes! Not to mention that a lot of the year will be gloomy...well, at least where I'm coming from (sunny Arizona). I'm hoping to use color in my home to make things a little more cheerful for the gloomy days. So, hoping that even thought it'll be nasty and grey and cold outside, having a room that is cozy and bright will help brighton our days. Whoa, that was way too much detail. Sorry.

The timing of this post couldn't have been more perfect. We're getting ready to move and we've got a budget to redo three rooms and have been in a quandary over what to do about flooring. Really love the Shirt Stripe in French Cuff and Linear. One of our daughters wants to paint her new room green and is studying the various tiles to see what kind of a pattern she can com up with.

I will never ever forget the first time I came across Alexander Girard...it was on a site called Maximo and I almost died. He is AMAZING and sometimes I feel like he is inside my head...because I Love his designs sooooo much they feel like my own. He is absolutely amazing. I have wanted a FLOR floor for ages!! I have a huge living room that would cost a fortune to carpet. The nice thing about the tiles is, I could make area groupings and leave the rest of the floor bare hardwood.

Like you, I too am a huge Alexander Girard fan! I was fortunate enough to see an exhibit of his work at the SF Moma a few years ago and I have been in love ever since!

I love his designs because they are bright, bold, and refreshing.
