mod*mom giveaway :: 3 tax return online prep, efiling + support $110

tango is a new service by h&r block that makes filing your taxes more fun!
i spent most of sunday + monday doing my taxes with the irs online forms.
luckily, h&r block had contacted me recently about sponsoring a giveaway,
so i asked them if i could review the online service first to see if it was good.
they sent me a link to their new service called
tango + i'm so glad they did!
tango includes online preparation of federal + state returns with efiling, live 24/7 tax support by phone, chat or email + year-round audit protection ($70 value, much cheaper than schlepping my files into an h&r block office).
i had already done all the forms, schedules + math the hard way, so i had amounts i thought i'd be refunded, but i wasn't sure why i wasn't getting some of the credits i qualified for, so i really appreciated the ease of doing my taxes again with the
tango interface + guess what?! i'm getting $600 more back from the irs. i don't know why, i didn't check that math, but yay!

h&r block wants to know what
mod*mom readers think of tango + they want you to try out tango free. you don't pay anything until you "file" + maybe you'll win free tango federal + state efiling or taxcut federal efiling!

to enter to win tango or taxcut online preparation, efiling + support,
tell me in the "comments" what are your
favorite
tango features+ why?
(include your email address + web url, so i can contact you when you win!)
before midnight, wednesday, march 19

So that's what you've been doing? I've been dreading doing my taxes, but that sounds fun, so I'll check it out and hope I win, but either way it is a better deal than I paid last year and I like to do it myself too.

Good morning, mod-mom,
Great blog site you've got here!
I saw the post you left on Graham Waldon's Whistle Dance.net blog, about how blogging helped you deal with cancer. First of all, I'm so sorry you had to go through all that, and I'm inspired that you found such a creative way to deal with it. And secondly, your thank-you note to him intrigued me, in light of a project I'm working on: I'm gathering a collection of Thank You Stories. A Thank You Story is a thank you letter written to someone who’s had a life-changing impact on you. The letter tells the story of how your life has developed because of that impact.
I plan to publish the Thank You Stories in a book, titled I Never Got to Thank You. And I would love to include a version of your letter to Graham, or any other letters you might have.
If you are interested, please visit my blog site for all the details: http://lovingherbeautiful.blogspot.com/2008/02/i-never-got-to-thank-you.html.
And either way, I'd be very grateful if you'd pass this link on to anyone else who might be interested.
Thank you so much, and congratulations again on your triumph!
Blessings,
BILL BURNS

I like that I can do it from home, take my time, and be walked through the steps. All at a great price! Please enter me!

By Blogger suzzcq70, at 2/27/2008 10:42 AM

Just starting thinking about this tax thing - can't believe it's that time again!! Anyhow, I love the unlimited tax support because I've always run into questions while I'm trying to file and then I end up trying to look it up in my dummies book, though half the time I'm still not sure, so I hafta call one of my buddies and plead for help. :) This would be great!

By Blogger kevnjacks, at 2/27/2008 12:02 PM

My husband decided to do our taxes on his own this year. The unlimited support is definitely the best part for me. It's not that I don't trust my DH with our taxes, but... ok, I kinda don't! ;)

By Blogger Lissete, at 2/27/2008 8:21 PM

I think my fav feature is that I can do it at home amidst caring for a toddler and newborn! VEry convenient ;)

how funny that they have downloadable wallpapers! tango's got quite the sense of humor, something you don't find much in the tax world. well, i would love to try it out. i could use all the help i can get. and i love that it looks easy and i can do it from home, online. nice!

By Blogger you da mom!, at 3/09/2008 10:47 AM

this is something I really need!
I like H&R Block because they know what they're doign and can be used 24/7!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3/10/2008 3:09 PM

It's great.you can take your time and do it at home at your pace.

By Blogger danosor, at 3/16/2008 7:01 AM

you can take your time and do it at home and it looks easy

By Blogger Unknown, at 3/16/2008 7:48 AM

The fact you can do both federal and state.

By Blogger Unknown, at 3/16/2008 9:25 AM

All the features sound great, but live support 24/7 is the best. I don't always get things done by a "normal schedule" standard so extra help anytime appeals to me. Thank you for the contest!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3/16/2008 2:00 PM

i can really trust h&rblock so that alone sells me on this product. I also love having my taxes go through step by step in easy to understand language

By Blogger Princess Golden Hair, at 3/16/2008 5:13 PM

the fact that h&R is a trusted named and the live support on both fed.and state and that you can do this all at home anytime

By Blogger TheresaJenkins, at 3/16/2008 8:30 PM

I like the idea of doing it at home, toddlers don't do well at an office and if I get stuck their is help

By Blogger noreen, at 3/16/2008 11:23 PM

As a CPA, I would say people are missing a lot of credits and deductions when they do it themselves.

By Blogger idahomom, at 3/17/2008 5:16 AM

I procrastinate shamelessly when it comes to taxes. This would help me get it done.

By Blogger Babalu, at 3/17/2008 2:10 PM

I like because its do-it-yourself.

By Blogger Brian E., at 3/17/2008 11:19 PM

ty 4 the great contest!its nice they have 24 hour support!

By Blogger masonsgranny59, at 3/18/2008 12:50 AM

This sounds great! We use Turbo Tax but I'm never sure we did it right.

By Blogger Taryn, at 3/18/2008 11:10 AM

24-hour support is up my alley, considering it's always the middle of the night when I take care of stuff like this!

By Blogger Jenna, at 3/18/2008 1:37 PM

i think th best feature is that you get 24 hour live tax support because having a child makes my days very short!

i love the fact that its thru h and r block and that you have 24 hr help if needed. great giveaway, thanks!

By Blogger Mary512, at 3/18/2008 2:32 PM

The 24/7 support looks best to me. I still haven't finished my tax prep for this year and I think I may have missed out with our busy accountant. Due to our employment situation, I know I'll need the help, but I don't know what day or hour I'll be ready for it!

By Blogger Diana (Ladybug Limited), at 3/18/2008 2:37 PM

oops... forgot to add my email and blog address. email is hellomary018 AT yahoo DOT com My blog is mommyland512.blogspot.com Thanks!

By Blogger Mary512, at 3/18/2008 2:37 PM

I prefer preparing my tax return myself but usually have some questions - I can do it at home at my own speed.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3/18/2008 2:40 PM

I would like to do it at home - slow and easy - no pressure

By Blogger JOYVEN, at 3/18/2008 10:28 PM

This is something I could use especially step by step help. Great

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3/18/2008 11:14 PM

Wow, a blog site I have not yet visited that I can recall. This is great!

I will be honest, at first I thought to myself...oh HR Block is just trying to steal turbo tax and turn a buck. I have not used turbo tax in a while, but from what I recall...they did not have the 24/7 phone help line. I really like that.

For instance...my husband moved out to California before the children and me. He worked in California, while I continued to work in Texas. Texas does not have state income tax. I should not have to pay state income tax to California since I was living there at the time. How do I file??? Oh how I would love somebody to clarify that for me so this 24/7 line would be cool.

Here is hoping we win, as we could really use this blessing to help us with our taxes this year.

Thank you for this incredible opportunity and blessings to you!

By Blogger Giulianna @ Family Blueprint, at 3/19/2008 12:11 AM

I love that they handle most tax scenarios & provide a list of documents-to-gather in preparation for filing. Yeah! Thanks for hosting!

By Blogger cltgrace, at 3/19/2008 12:21 AM

I like that I can use it on Windows PC, Mac or Linux platform. Love my Mac!

By Blogger J_Mama, at 3/19/2008 2:51 AM

I'm glad I can use it on the Mac. I also need the unlimited tax & technical support!

jasonncaryn at yahoo dot com

By Blogger Rockin' Mama, at 3/19/2008 6:03 AM

It seems to be very easy to use and I love that you can e-file.

By Blogger carissaad, at 3/19/2008 7:05 AM

worry-free audit support is the feature that appeals to me because it would be nice to know that you had someone to support you and provide the information in case you get audited by our friendly beloved IRS.

By Blogger Unknown, at 3/19/2008 9:47 AM

One great feature is the year-round audit protection with Worry-free Audit Support. It really puts your mind at ease about doing your own taxes!!! Thank you so much for offering this wonderful and very useful giveaway.

By Blogger Unknown, at 3/19/2008 10:39 AM

The 24 hour support would be my favorite.

By Blogger Bakersdozen, at 3/19/2008 5:31 PM

The fact that you have online access to real tax pros is my favorite feature. It would come in handy if I have any questions and just a great feature that I could really use.

By Blogger KristenH, at 3/19/2008 5:48 PM

Getting it done next week-mine is complicated. But my kids who have easier ones to prepare and are very knowledgeable would love to use this. rosans4@insightbb.com

By Blogger Unknown, at 3/19/2008 7:41 PM

I need all the phone 24/7 support I can get...I procrastinate and worry til the wee hours...

By Blogger Imaterri, at 3/19/2008 8:22 PM

Tango is (was) a nice idea in theory but competed with H&R Block’s online products… Block officially pulled the plug for Tango, Oct. 2008
