loved the Christopher Deam interview showing the DWR Airstream! It's really amazing how the interior reflects the exterior colors.
I think I like the videos and the home pictures. Lots to look at!

I'd looked at Dwell before, but just discovered the Product of the Day. I like being able to browse through the images and descriptions -- it's a nice quick way to see the cool items that Dwell is recommending.

Hate the trial issue box that comes up when entering the site. Also hate the advertising box on top right of homepage. Overall the site is trying to cram too much in- not a very modern aesthetic! Three columns is too much. So my favorite element was the clean navigation bar on the top, which let me jump to where I wanted to go, but there was too much clutter even after navigating off the homepage.

By Blogger Sarah, at 12/10/2007 11:56 AM

I grabbed a copy of this magazine from a hotel I was staying in a thought it was really well put together. I didn't think to look for a website, but looking now I really like the tech blog, though I'd like to see a combined blog feed so that I don't have to subscribe separately to the regular blog.

By Blogger Mike Karr, at 12/10/2007 12:11 PM

Pop up window is annoying.
Loved the Homes Section and the Product of the Day section.

By Blogger Brooke, at 12/10/2007 12:17 PM

Love the Product of the Day column. Would love to see more green/eco building/living articles and columns.

Hope I win!

By Blogger Bree, at 12/10/2007 2:17 PM

I LOVE love love the kitchen blog! Not living in the most metro area of the country, we miss out on a lot of cool stuff (we don't even have a Williams-Sonoma) so this can keep us up to date on new stuff that comes out!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/10/2007 2:45 PM

Love the product of the day! For those days when I don't have time to read the whole thing!

By Blogger Julie, at 12/10/2007 4:47 PM

I love the prefab homes, my husband and I have always wanted to buy a small one and use it as a get-a-way house in a nice rural area. The product of the day is great, as is the Green home section. Thanks for offering this - the few Dwell magazines I've seen in the past have been awesome!

I adore how they have something for seemingly everyone on their site. Techies, foodies, and even mod shoppers can find something they love on Dwell's site. Well-designed and well-considered. A little something for a large group of people. Nice!

By Blogger heather h, at 12/10/2007 7:03 PM

Sorry to be repeating a few other posters, but as a blog reader, the kitchen blog section is just great, and gives me great ideas.

By Blogger Tiffany, at 12/10/2007 7:26 PM

I love the homes section. Great for ideas on architecture, interiors and pure design inspiration.

By Blogger Unknown, at 12/10/2007 7:33 PM

I haven't actually read Dwell before, but I'm always interested in ideas to make my home more functional.

I like the "People and Places" column that features such beautiful architecture. What a nice looking site!

Love the magazine, I don't have a sub but I pick up a copy sometimes if I'm magazine-shopping. I'm really interested in prefab, so I like that section of their site. Product of the day is cool, to get peeks at cool objects/ideas every day. And the kitchen blog is great for checking out lust-worthy gadgets. I love it all! :)

I love Dwell magazine but I've never checked out the site before. It's a great overview of the magazine. The prefab homes are one of my very favorite things!

By Blogger Two Mittens, at 12/11/2007 7:15 PM

I really enjoyed the slideshow pictures. I loved the Aqua house in Miami. Wish I could have seen even more pictures of it. I'm glad you can purchase previous issues of Dwell. I noticed a few I need to pick up. My only critisism (not given negatively, just a "gentle wish" kind of critisism) is that I find many of the pictures and even the web site a bit colorless. Modern doesn't mean gray and cold. I wish they'd use more color, that's all. I loved the blue they used in the products section. Good start. :)

By Blogger s a n s k u :), at 12/12/2007 11:54 AM

When Dwell features homeowners that have acted as their own contractors or have converted a building or built something on the cheap--they really get my attention. I enjoy reading about the start to finish projects and the reuse ideas for building materials-like large pieces of cast of steel being turned into someone's roof or a junk yard lot no one wanted that one a couple turned into their dream home property. Very resourceful and creative projects in the mag.

I love Rocio Romero and the feature they did on her LV homes!!! I love all the articles on Prefab and love, love to see how modern design is done on the inside! I would absolutely be thrilled with the chance to win. Thank you for this opportunity.

I love looking through the product of the day on dwell.com. It is always fun to see what they have even if I can't afford it.

By Blogger Bess, at 12/14/2007 4:14 PM

I must say I love the design of magazine more so than the website. I do enjoy the easy to read headline (makes searching for something specific a breeze), the daily product is bookmarken. The one thing I would like to see a little more of is color, perhaps a jolt behind the DWELL logo, or the headlines themselves which tend to blend in on the homepage. All in love, love the content.

By Blogger Brianne, at 12/14/2007 5:31 PM

The photo sets are inspiring and the kitchen blog is great -- can you tell we're working on a remodel?

This is the first time I've read the Dwell Magazine. I'm interested! I loved the renovation section. The article about the ranch remodel was inspiring. Lots of great ideas from the experts. I'm Sue McIntire ksmcintire@cox.net

There is so much to like! I love the the fresh ideas and the designs are mind blowing! what talent!

My husband absolutely LOVES Dwell magazine. We both like the idea of smaller, energy-efficient spaces. Dwell has creative and attractive ideas that have been the inspiration for a lot of our interior spaces. We love a sort of Asian-inspired modern simplicity, but with the bright, cheerful colors of European modern design. We particularly like styles and designs in Dwell that blur the border between what's inside and what's outside.

By Blogger ncbookseller, at 12/16/2007 8:20 AM

Wow, great spot! I was at Dwell.com for waaayyy too long! Love the Design Digest, all the different Blogs and of course the videos, how Fab! I would love a subscription!

Thanks, Mod*Mom, for the great post about Dwell! And thanks (to those who commented) for the fantastic feedback.

Best,

I especially like the Kitchen Blog. Hate to say that the home page is visually cluttered and a little overwhelming. Thanks for the giveaway! emhagedon at gmail

Interesting website (Dwell). I could spend a lot of time looking through everything. I especially loved the dwell blog as I saw lots of products I never knew even existed (ex - plant filter). Thanks for a useful giveaway! ~ :)

I spent a lot of time on their web site, lots of very cool stuff to look at and dream about. The best part, for this time of the year, was the gifts section. It had gifts listed for different age groups and I loved that. A teen-age boy is horrible to try to buy something unique for that he will actually like. I found several ideas that I will keep for birthdays too. I loved the honeycomb lamp for me....I am always looking for ways to add light to dark corners that is subtle and interesting. Thanks so much for intoducing me to this site. I have never seen it before. I would love to have their magazine.

When I have the time I like to go through the slide shows. If I need a quick design fix, I check out the Product of the Day.

By Blogger Nicole, at 12/28/2007 7:45 AM

I most enjoyed the "Show Your Space" section. It is very inspiring when people use their resources--limited or not--in creative and innovative ways. So many times people try to buy a "look" when a little creativity can transform a space in a beautiful way!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/28/2007 2:51 PM

I just realized that I am echoing the previous comment, but my favorite section of the site is "Show Your Space." I love finding inspiration in 'real' spaces and being able to read the stories behind the transformations. I also like how other users are able to comment and share their opinions with the original poster.

As far as the redesign, I love that they put the blogs first and foremost in the navigation. I have to say my favorite section is the Product of the Day, but I also love the emphasis Dwell has always put on affordable, modern pre-fab housing units.
