i'm really excited (+ nervous) about mod*tot's upcoming birthday!!!!
every year for mod*tot's birthday we've been at children's fairyland in oakland. her birthday is a week + a half away + we'll be in sacramento, so we're going to fairytale town. we'll go to fairyland soon after, but we're also expanding to bonfante gardens + maybe even great america, but i wish we could go to disneyworld or disneyland in tokyo or paris....
(to be continued.)
do you have any great toddler/nursery schooler birthday party ideas for us?

wait-a-minute. There's a FAIRYLAND in Oakland? I live zigzag from there up in the northbay. Who knew!? I'll hafta google it!
I grew up in SoCal and for some reason we always had a relative working there who would get us year passes to Disneyland. You would think you would get tired of it, not a chance! I've been in the bay area for 5 years AND have still renewed my yearly pass! I cried the first time I bought my 3 year old hers. You should totally go but in October! They close earlier but on tues, wed, and thur its almost garented dead!
OH! I had a key like that! I grew up in the Bay Area, and use to go to Fairyland ;)
Hey, that key looks awfully familiar! :^D LOL!
May be too late for the birthday ideas -- but we had a blast at our daughter's #3: got some big boxes from an appliance store and taped them together to make a "castle" -- complete with tower and crenelated (is that the word?) trim & drawbridge; cut "shutters" in and painted windowboxes. Brought out the tempura paints and they went to town. We still have footprints on the floor of the carport (totally groovin' 50's ranch) almost a year later! Had to hose the kids off, but worth it. Booze for parents a very good thing!
