Mahar Drygoods has so many cool things that it's impossible to choose a favourite - I like the play foods, the bull moose marionette, the journals and colouring books...

On Junior Society, I like the Braille alphabet blocks.

By Blogger ikkinlala, at 5/09/2007 8:40 AM

At Mahar Dry Goods (love that site!) the Bento Box from Lilly Bean is the best! And a quick look through Junior Society (a new one to me) turned up some cool cutlery sets from Mzuko and fabulous kids bedding from Boodalee. Thanks for sharing!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/09/2007 12:07 PM

On Mahar Drygoods--I love the pear bag. With Junior Society, it's the paper models--they're fantastic.

My boys love the castle building blocks and the marionettes.

Enter me, please.

I love the Lilly Bean play food. And on Junior Society, definitely the flying beds vertical bunkbeds. I'll take 4 sets of those please. ;)

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/10/2007 3:51 AM

The Eames hang it all at Junior Society is pretty neat. As for Mahar Drygoods, the giddy giddy clips are fabulous.

Mahar -- Castle building blocks & all the handmade things. They inspire me to create.

I've been drooling over the alphabet magnets for some time now.

By Blogger charlottestjulien, at 5/14/2007 4:28 AM

Mahar Dry Goods:
Ludic of the Woollyhoodwinks is hands down the best thing ever.
I saw this wink featured on a few blogs recently, and all I can think of is the adventures you would have with him, the places you would go, and the things you would see together as a child... Such great design and emotion in just a few stitches!

Junior Society:
I am truly a fan of out of the box childrens art. My husband is a childrens book illustrator and our tastes have always strayed to the nor-traditional art for nurserys.
I now a converted fan of all of the artists showcased from thumbtack press..... and will be ordering one of each!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/14/2007 5:42 AM

OK, First, the drygoods booties that look like ice skates are adorable. And junior society? Love the cardboard play house - so clever and inviting to all sorts of imaginations!

By Blogger Jennifer, at 5/14/2007 10:58 AM

I love the lilly bean play foods at Mahar Dry goods, and the changing tables at junior society are ingenious! (though i liked a lot of other stuff too!)

By Blogger jayme, at 5/14/2007 11:39 AM

Junior Society: My kids would find that little cardboard garden cottage irresistible. And how do I love Mahar Dry Goods? Let me count the ways.......and I'll start with that birthday banner. I have a big 70th bday bash coming up, so I hope I'm the winner! Pick me! Pick me! :)

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/14/2007 3:35 PM

The Monster Cranky Pants are pretty darn cute, but I think my favorite thing at Mahar Dry Goods has got to be the felt food. At Jr. Society, the favorite product would probably have to be the Balancing Chair Game, though my favorite thing about the site is the illustrations.

By Blogger greetingarts, at 5/14/2007 9:22 PM

oooh, I have to pick only one thing?! If you are forcing me- with hands behind my back I guess I will say that the Sweet Jessie Bookplates at Mahar are my favorite.

At Jr. Society I really like the Karl Johnson silhouettes.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/14/2007 9:31 PM

It's incredibly hard to choose just one item, but I love the sock monkey necklace and on from Mahar and my favorite thing so far on Jr. Society has been the deer coatracks.

By Blogger The Flynns, at 5/15/2007 12:40 AM

the deer wall hangers are too cute, and i have been dying to get my hands on the crochet gnomes!

By Blogger Funky Finds, at 5/15/2007 5:51 AM

Fun contest!

Mahar Drygoods - no longer in print, but I loved the Tania Howells colouring books and am waiting for them to be printed again!

Junior Society - I loved the wooden Danish blocks with Spanish letters. Am waiting to order those for my son!

Ooh, a contest with a built-in reason to shop!

My favorite Mahar products are the Kozyndan posters. I think Uprisings is my favorite, but I really love the Bunny Blossom one, too.

And I love the SATees they showed on Junior Society a few days ago. Loved them.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/15/2007 8:24 AM

I love my viewmaster from Mahar Drygoods. I love everything about the Junior Society-I get excited every time there is a new email!

On MDG: the Little Cotton Rabbits and on JS: the Braille alphabet blocks.

By Blogger Ali, at 5/15/2007 10:14 AM

I have been a fan of Mahar Dry Goods for more than a year. I fell in love with Jen Corace's artwork and have drooled over Peter Dziulak’s Castle Building Blocks. And the deer coathangers on Junior Society made me swoon. And dude, the cool suitcase packaging? Totally neato.

By Blogger VenturaMom from, at 5/15/2007 1:02 PM

I love love love the Castle Building Blocks on Mahar Dry Goods and on Junior Soceity I love the SATees.

By Blogger meg, at 5/15/2007 3:31 PM

It's so hard to pick a top from either site! But I'll say: my favorite mahar drygoods product is the Lilly Bean play food Bento, which I covet madly (if I'd discovered them soon enough it would have been the cranky pants though); and on junior society I love that cardboard rocket from paperpod. Well, and those flip-down bunkbeds.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/15/2007 7:28 PM

On Mahar Dry Goods I love the crocheted chick and eggs. I'm going to try and crochet them myself. On Junior society I love the funky kids accessories.

By Blogger Barb, at 5/15/2007 8:22 PM

ok i adore averything over at mahar, i especially love the design of the site and the beautiful flying bird illustration - so dreamy.
Product: well i absolutely heart the Jen Corace Lamb Photo Album and her prints are so so ahhhhhh.
Junior society is just so fun, i feel like i have my own tree house when i head over there, i really loved the silhouettes post and have tried my own!
thanks i really like visiting with you guys!!

By Blogger pinksnowflakes, at 5/15/2007 9:49 PM

this contest is almost cruel!! I mean how am I supposed to CHOOSE from all the AMAZING stuf at Mahar Dry Goods let alone the Junior Society site!! But if means an entry in the super secret prize contest, I'll attempt to make an extra effort.

My personal FAVORITE at MDG (something I have looked at over and over again in complete awe) is Stella the Squirrel by Chikagraphy. In fact, I don't just love Stella but I love all of her animal friends too! (of course there at least a hundred other things I love ther too, for my daughter but for me....it is those amaziing creatures!)

Now as for the Junior Society...I love every single post I have seen there, I have even gone into the archives to read the ones posted before I was on the mailing list! it is just so GREAT!.. but I have to admit my most favorite favorite thing about that site is the S.Britt illustrations...
but, if I have to chosse from the posts for my contest entry I would have to choose the SATees! In fact, I just bought my 2 1/2 year old--Loquacious so thanks for that one!

phew! am I "entered" now!?? that was hard!
:-)

By Blogger eeny meanie, at 5/16/2007 5:50 PM

I love Mahar Drygoods! Even the tissue and string they wrap your purchase in is lovely!
One of my favorite things is Lilly Bean Play Food, especially the bento and the paper bag lunch.
I love everything about Junior Society! I really like the recent post on musicology and the older post on art & craft. Both posts make parenthood sound so fun! ;) I just love the coloring book, too.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5/16/2007 6:18 PM

baby cranky pants...love to screaming mouth over the crotch, hilarious. the art projects on junior society...though they look difficult, seem like awesome end products

Jen Corace's illustrations are what I love at Mahar's - such simplicity and beauty with delicate lines. I really liked the paper cutouts at Junior Society - I'm sure I know someone who looks like the 'old man of the jungle'! The elephant on the the tightrope sillouette reminded me of a song my girls would sing " Ten grey elephants balancing on a string" nice memories!

I love the fun soapsicles by Soapy Love!
