I HAD that very doll. Her name is Dressy Bessy, and guess WHAT? She is still available. Of course, now she has velcro instead of buckles. The idea was to learn to button, snap, tie, zip.

coincidentally, i saw the new dressy bessy + dressy "some boys name" at a store yesterday. they're not as cute + the cheeks are pale + you can't completely undress them, because the bottom shirt + sleeves are sewn as the body in yucky print fabric.
i want the old one... maybe ebay or a vintage pattern?

I have that dressy bessy in my two year old sons room it was mine as a child. Modmom, you seem to love many of the same things I do. I can't believe it.

i looked all over the internet for an original dressy bessy, but i couldn't find one so i bought "mod*tot" a new pale one to use as a pattern. it doesn't have those cool purple vinyl shoes or any shoes + the nose is now like a groovy girls, but the cute hairdo + general body shape is the same. i became a little obsessed with getting a vintage dressy bessy.
