fresh summery infant car seat covers make your baby more comfortable, change + wash easily, + look cheerier than the dark colors the seats usually come in.

i made mod*tot's seat covers. her infant seat went on a stroller base too for shopping+ walks, + we'd carry her in it to wellbaby visits. so it got a lot of use + i felt better with customized seat covers. i didn't know there were premade ones like this with a sunshade.

i apologize for not posting since saturday, i have a lot on my mind with radiation treatments about to start. monday i went to the hospital for "radiation simulation" + target tattooing, but my arm is too stiff + painful to get up over my head where they need it to fit me in a cat scan machine + we had that heatwave + i already have hot flashes + nightsweats from the chemo. i'll be posting later today after my heartscan at the hospital. they take out some blood, add a radiactive dye marker, re-inject it + then a "gamma camera" takes a 20-minute movie of the blood ejecting from my heart during each heart beat. that data gives them an "ejection fraction" rate, which is how much blood is pumped out per heart beat. a new monoclonal antibody chemo drug that is specifically targeted at her2neu breast cancer damaged my heart about 20%, so it ejects about 10% less blood per beat. that blood stays in my heart + my heart swells up (enlarged heart) + the blood backs up into the lungs, so i get "out of breath" + chest tightness + pressure. the moral is...... check yourself regularly to catch cancer or any health problem early, so you don't end up dealing with stuff like this.

i also designed a funny sun hat + went to the beach in san francisco + some parks with my daughter + husband this week, so we had some fun too.

time again to go to lemonland. check your lemons or your squeeze's.
it's been 2 1/2 weeks since my mastectomy + lymph node surgery. my arm is messed up. the nerves + muscles are cut. i can't believe the pain + numbness + the extent of it. it's down to my elbow + around the back of my shoulder + from the arm pit almost to my waist.

next monday, i start physical therapy to prevent permanent "frozen" shoulder. then i meet with a radiation oncologist who will tell me what's going to happen during my 6-week course of daily radiation. i hear it makes you feel exhausted + burned + softens your rib bones. so on that cheery note, check yourself + find anything early, so you don't have to go through all this. i can't count how many tests i've had on my body + i have heart failure from the chemotherapy, which can be avoided if you find cancer early. i have radioactive heart tests monthly now. mod*tot tells her baby dolls she's going to the doctor to check her boobies. it's cute to hear her. she's knows it's important to check her breasts, but sad that her mommy is always going to the doctor .

kidshealthgalaxy is a great place to educate kids about hospitals + iv's if they or someone they know has to go to the hospital or have chemotherapy. i hope it made it a lot less scary for her that i had to go to the hospital + to visit me there.

face visor , solar shade, mega visor mania.
i saw a mom wearing a big visor at a playground a few months ago. then a few weeks later, i spotted drivers on the freeway wearing them. i became obsessed with finding one to buy. finally, my husband saw a lady a couple of weeks ago + she directed him to a korean store + i got me one! it's great. it's like big sunglasses + sun protection + mystery. my husband loves it especially for driving.

walgreen's is supposed to start carrying them. by the way, walgreen's has a great health library, with excellent videos. i watched how breast cancer travels through the lymphatic system. gross, but informative.
