mastectomy ::
monday, i'm going to have a,b ,c + d removed.

if all goes well, i'll be in the hospital 3 or 4 days, then recooperating 4 weeks, until 6 weeks of daily radiation begins.

i'm not going to be able to use my right arm/hand for awhile because of the lymph node surgery, but if i'm not too looped from the pain medication, i know i'll be trying to post with my left hand asap.

thank you to everyone who takes a look at my blog + i really appreciate your comments + links. it's been a fun outlet + distraction during chemo + i've met a lot of very nice people.

gdiapers are a better option than cloth or paper. the linings are flushable + the pee ones are compostable. i hope they branch into adult diapers + sanitary napkins.

american association of pediatrics recommends breastmilk for at least one year. the world health organization recommends at least 2 years. i breast fed mod*tot for 2 1/2 years + though it was very difficult for me, i hung in there because it was obvious it was the best thing to do for her physically + psychologically for her then + for the rest of her life.

telegraph says, "the v&a's new 'sixties fashion' exhibition is a kaleidoscope of colour + buzz + youth + miniskirts + beatles + boutiques +ossie clark + celia birtwell prints - it's as bracing + bedazzling as it seemed at the time. it's difficult to explain the total shock of the totally new to people who are now in their twenties, thirties or forties."

time again to go to lemonland :: check your lemons or somebody you love's
i'll be spending the morning in chemo + the afternoon getting a heart scan with radioactive dye to test whether 4 months of chemo has damaged my heart. wednesday, i'll have an mri to measure the tumor. this is to prepare for mastectomy surgery in two weeks. so, check those lemons + get any lumps checked out early, so you don't end up like me.
