i loved the documentaries "who killed the electric car" + "revenge of the electric car"
i was thrilled to spot electric car pioneer elon musk in his tesla beside me in palo alto recently. he graciously waved + smiled, when i waved wildly + mouthed "i'm your big fan" :) General Motors credited elon with inspiring them to develop the chevy VOLT.
the day before school started, we drove to the beach in Carmel + had lunch at Doris Day's Cypress Inn in the sunny courtyard full of dogs. on the way home we passed a massive auto show at Pebble Beach + lots of rare vintage + exotic collector cars on the road. i was excited we were in an electric chevy VOLT :)
i'm into electric vehicles to avoid gas consumption + pollution emissions.
the VOLT is futuristic: computer dashboard + the 1st 37 miles is all electric, which can cover my whole day of car travel usually. when i went further than 37 miles, i got 37 mpg or parked it at a charge station (free in most public garages). electric car owners were very friendly + eager to talk about their car's features + the money they save.
the VOLT is quiet, comfortable + roomy. i fit bikes, strollers, skates, + pet carriers inside.
i was just borrowing the VOLT, but now i love it + i miss it sooo much...

free futuristic photobooth :: subsurface skin analysis :: whole foods market
Whole Foods has a free complexion analysis ultraviolet camera system traveling around it's stores + now it's in Cupertino for 6 weeks. $200 value
digital imaging camera captures 8 points of your skin’s overall health:
a skin care consultant enters your age to be compared within your age percentile, then you place your chin on a rest inside the photo booth + close your eyes for a picture. they print your skin analysis with 9 pictures showing your percentile rank within age. then the consultant can explain the results + recommend skin care products + procedures.

Disney Director/writer, Peter Hedges gave a google+ hangout with the actor who plays the father in The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Peter also directed What's Eating Gilbert Grape, my first date movie with mod*pop!
in this taped hangout, he charmingly answers questions from bloggers about his magical parenting movie + the magic of making things, loving, + being loved :)
