ReplyDeleteDon't get me started...!
ReplyDeleteAs a teen, Mick and the boys'printed paper faces graced my walls and were always on the turn table...
I love too many of their before 1980's songs to pick a fav... but a favorite memory...? hmmmm, maybe hearing "She's a Rainbow" for the first time--I was lying in my teenage bedroom looking up at the skylight my dad had put in my room...

My favorite memory is of my dad always wearing the big tongue shirt on the weekends. He lived in that shirt.
ReplyDeleteI'm enthralled with anyone who snorts his dad's ashes.
ReplyDeleteSummer road trips across the country with Mom, Dad and 3 girls - The Beatles playing on our portable cassette player - the only tunes that we could all agree on!
ReplyDeleteSympathy for the Devil is my FAVE Stones song... but it's hard to decide because I LOVE Paint It Black too...

ReplyDeleteWe listen to the Stones on long drives. All the kids sing DEAD FLOWERS in the back seat. It may be creepy to some, but it's oh so sweet to me.
ReplyDeleteBaby Mod*Mom at the Stones? How cool is that?! What will be Mod*Tots first concert?
ReplyDeleteOh, I love Wild Horses, but I like Beast of Burden, too.
Brown Sugar is one of my favorite!
ReplyDeleteMelody from Black and Blue, Monkey Man from Let it Bleed and sooooo many other faves!
ReplyDeleteTough...but I'm going to go with Ruby Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteIf I win, I must admit, I may have to give it to my Mom...even though it is a Father's Day contest.
My daughter could sing, "You can't always get what you want" when she was two. It's a great song to teach kids and sing when they are wanting something.
ReplyDeleteMy boys are just discovering the Rolling Stones... It all just keeps coming around, doesn't it?

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the Stones! There is no way I could pick a favorite song! Beast of Burden, Can't Always Get What You Want... I love them all.. It never ceases to amaze me how many Stones fans there are! Everytime I wear my Lips logo hoodie I always have peope stop me and tell me why they love the stones too! And how great it was when they got Keith Richards to play the role of Captain jack's father in Pirates of the Caribbean?!? (One of my fave movies!)

In 1979 we moved into a new house with an intercom system that was also hooked up to the record player. Occasionally my father would put on Hot Rocks or Some Girls and blast it into every room of the house. Yes...good times.
ReplyDeletePast the deadline''''' but I'm looking forward to seeing Get Off My Cloud performed live. My fave song from the stones though is Let It Bleed.
